It was determined that under the worst case scenario the missteered electron beam can damage the vacuum chamber and in-vacuum components within 40 us. Hence, the LEReC requires a dedicated fast machine protection system (MPS). The LEReC MPS has been designed and built and currently is under commissioning. In this paper we describe the most recent developments with the LEReC MPS.
